Pinot Gris 2009

The 2009 Stafford Lane Pinot Gris is created from 100% estate grown fruit, which is managed under Sustainable Winegrowing practices (SWNZ). Careful vineyard management ensured the fruit was picked at optimum ripeness, and was received at the winery for gentle processing over minimal period of time.

Specially selected cultured yeast strains were used to ensure fruit characteristics were displayed to their best advantage, with fermentation taking place in 100% stainless steel tanks. The ferment was stopped early to provide a natural sugar acid balance, and no fining agents were needed prior to cross flow filtration and bottling.

On the nose it has hints of Paw Paw and Pineapple and Nectarines/poached Pears on the palate, with a strong finish.
